When Cherise returned to Saphira, she didn't sit around doing nothing. At the break of dawn, she visited the

elderly. households in the village, offering consultations. She also took out her rare and precious herbs from her

pharmacy to dry in the sun.

Many of the pills were personally crafted by her, unique concoctions that couldn't be found on the market.

Dennis and Bella, not being familiar with this sort of thing, were hesitant to help, afraid they might make a

mistake, so they stayed out of the drying process. Although Cherise was usually quiet and reserved, when she

interacted with the elderly villagers, she was warmer and more attentive than anyone else. Those who knew her

well found her heartwarming, with a smile as sweet as a young girl's.

But to those who didn't know her, she often seemed cold and distant, sometimes misunderstood, and even

criticized.

Morris, the president of two large companies, had accompanied her back to Saphira, and she greatly appreciated

that.

Knowing that he and Steven were discussing business in another room, she didn't want to disturb them and was

content to focus on her own tasks.

"Ms. Leach, | have to say, Morris is really something special," Bella remarked while helping Cherise dry the herbs.

Cherise smiled faintly. "Yes, he's quite handsome."

Bella grinned. "Oh, it's not just about his looks. This morning, after breakfast, he actually volunteered to wash

the dishes! A man who helps with the dishes is definitely a treasure!" Cherise, seeing how much Bella liked him,

didn't say much but gave a smile. She knew he was willing to do anything for her. The two continued chatting in

the courtyard.

After lunch, Morris told Cherise that he had a project in Yasvissa that needed his attention, so he would be

stepping out. He said his goodbyes and left with Truman and Steven. Xenia went to help Marlon tidy up the

house, which had gathered dust after years of disuse.

Cherise took a peaceful nap and, when she woke up, gathered the herbs she had left to dry. Then, she pushed

open the door and entered her grandmother's study.

The last tshe had been in this study was before leaving Yasvissa. It was spotless, showing that Dennis and

Bella had taken good care of it.

Entering once again, the familiar scent of her grandmother filled the air, and memories cflooding back.

On the tall bookshelf, Cherise pulled out a few interesting books, planning to take them back to Betrico.

She also picked up a volon Traditional Medicine, one she used to read often when she was younger, and sat

down by the window, flipping through it.

Halfway through, she stretched and glanced at the secret door. After a moment's thought, she set the book down

and walked over to it. The password she had cracked before leaving Yasvissa was no longer a challenge.

With just a few easy movements, the door creaked open. The secret room was just as it had been-neat and

untouched.

Cherise walked over to the table and picked up a photo frresting on it-an image of her and her

grandmother, both smiling brightly. Those moments, sadly, were now in the past.

She wiped away the thin layer of dust on the frame, smiled softly and returned it to its place.

Next, she crouched in front of the items her grandmother had left her. She began examining its contents, a quiet

way of cherishing her grandmother's memory. It was afternoon, and the sun in Yasvissa was still strong for the

season.

After putting everything back in place, Cherise noticed that the small glass window in the upper right corner of

the room. faced the chest. The sunlight coming through could, over time, cause the items inside to deteriorate.

She pursed her lips and then decided to move the chest to a new location. The chest was heavy, and moving it

wasn't easy.

Once she had shifted it to a spot where it wouldn't be exposed to the sunlight, she dusted her hands off in

satisfaction.

Noticing ssmudges on the wooden plank she had just moved, she pulled a tissue from her pocket, crouched

down, and carefully wiped it clean.

A moment later, she squinted at the floor, deep in thought. After a few seconds, she tapped gently on the

wooden plank several times. Her expression went serious.

She then tapped around the surrounding planks in quick succession. After a pause, the floorboard gave a faint

"hiss," and Cherise's focus sharpened.

She stared at the plank, brushed her bangs behind her ear, and pressed down on several corners of the board.

Suddenly, with a crisp pop, the board lifted slightly, revealing a hidden compartment underneath.

Seeing the floorboard raised, Cherise couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. "So there is something hidden here

after all." Feeling a little tired from crouching, she sat down on the floor.

After a moment, she spoke to the air, "Grandma, | wonder what's inside. | think I'll open it and find out."
