The sunlight shone on Callum's face, and Joseph noticed the changes in his expression. "Did you uncover
something?"
"Just sfamily matters."
"Has Otto started contacting your daughter?"
"I have no idea. I've been pretty busy with sother stuff recently, but | did warn her."
Callum did not divulge to Joseph the information he just received. He calmed himself and patted Joseph's
shoulders. "How about giving up on your ex-wife and giving it a go with my daughter instead?"
Although it would be Joseph's second marriage, he was exceptional in various aspects. If he got together with
Callum's daughter, she would not be losing out.

Joseph's face stiffened. He replied seriously, "Mr. Callum, you know that | only care about Chloe."

felt something amiss, so he called them and asked about it.
"Apologies, Mr. Noah. We sold our shares to Mr. Joseph. He bought them at ten times the market value. We just
couldn't resist. Please be considerate. We're only in small businesses, after all."
Noah's voice turned icy. "You guys ctoseveral times and beggedto buy the shares. Now, you sold
them so casually. You guys are indeed businessmen who put profit before everything else."
"Mr. Noah, don’t say it like it's such a bad thing. We don't own as many properties as you. We have to earn a
living somehow."
"All right then. There’s no need for us to work together in any respect related to the Sullivans in the future since
you decided to end the cooperation."
Noah then hung up since he could not bother to say much more.
Chloe had heard most of the conversation. "Does this mean Joseph has more influence regarding the resort
now?"
"Yes, logically speaking." Noah smoothed her messy bangs, then comforted her, "It's fine. It's just a resort. We
don't have to care about it too much."
"I know but | don't want to be at his mercy. He's aiming for me. If we just let him do what he wants with the
resort, he'll pull something even more outrageous next time."
Noah pondered. "What do you want to do then? Tell me."
"It's better for us to attack instead of being passive."

Noah's brows knitted together. "No, let's just drop it and pretend nothing happened." He did not like the thought
of her meeting Joseph again. The more they interacted, the more likely it was for the past to be exposed.
However, Chloe ignored him and formulated a plan. She did not want someone to be burdened because of her.

When Callum got back to the royal castle, he sought out his wife, Carolina Musgrave. He then told her about
everything that had happened between him and Luciana.
Hearing his story, Carolina's face paled. "You have a child with another woman?"
"Yes, but this all happened before | got to know you. | promise I didn’t cheat on you."
Carolina extricated herself from his embrace. No woman would be at ease to learn that her husband had an
illegitimate daughter. She braced herself and asked, "You found the child?"
"Yes, | did. Felix sentthe information but | haven't read it yet. But if you don't want to acknowledge her
status, I'll have Felix give her an exorbitant sum to keep quiet."
Carolina knew that it was not Luciana's fault and that she was just a victim, so she found it hard to make a
decision. "Let's read the information first."
Callum simply nodded as he was not hard-pressed for an answer. He then opened the file Felix had sent him.
