| sit across from Jayden in the penthouse living room, the city lights flickering outside the floor-to-ceiling
windows. The day has been long and exhausting, the week has, but somehow, sitting here with him, a sense of

I'm touched by his consideration, and | can't help but smile. "Thank you for that," | say, "but you don't have to
sleep on the sofa. The truth is, I'd like to share a bed with you tonight. Just to have you close, to feel you beside
me. | think we could both use scomfort." He looks at me, a mixture of relief and warmth in his eyes. "I'd like
that too," he says. "But | also want you to know, I'm okay with whatever pace you need. We don't have to rush
anything."
